Saturday November 28th 2009

I was born in Manchester, England in 1980. I became interested in computers at an early age and taught myself to program my first computer, a commodore 64, whilst still at primary school. I was soon on the way to earning my first degree in Computer Science.

After graduating I traveled around Europe and America and, on returning, started working at British TelecomBT website image in Bristol managing a small set of major business accounts including Adidas, Costain & IMI. After a year, and a number of promotions, I moved into BT Global Services as a Cisco specialist. Two years in this role taught me all I needed to know about the inner workings of the internet and I started to become interested in what the internet was actually being used for.

I applied for a masters degree in Human Communication and Computing at the University of BathBath Uni website image, and was accepted with a full scholarship from the EPSRCEPSRC website image. I graduated, with an MSc, in December 2006, having learnt the true worth of computer science; making life more straightforward, not more complicated. I currently live in Bath, England.
